ABOUT
Wilkinson ART Gallery

Collectors who practice philanthropy and generously give and serve across a number of arts organizations also know how to break out on their own to find galleries with credibility and discover artists who are recognized for their established studio work and exhibition history. Art collectors purchase with intent, and care enough to learn about artists and their stories.
Through artist receptions, gallery open house events, and artist talks, Wilkinson ART Gallery enjoys relationships with Greenville South Carolina and regional art collectors looking for contemporary art.

I like to get to know individuals and families who're emerging and beginning their collections and will continue to build an art collection over the span of their lives. I want to work toward multi-generational Greenville and SC ties with those who prefer serious acquisitions in a comfortable setting.

It's all about the work, it's having a legacy mindset, and for the collector it's a fun excursion. Small group visits and private viewings are part of the culture here.
The Atmosphere

The atmosphere is intentionally conversational and not intimidating. Relationships matter most, and connections between collector, gallery, and dealer become intertwined.

In hosting art openings in Greenville, collectors who want to visit the gallery by themselves or with close friends are welcome. Small groups from one to three or four are remarkably interesting. It's fun to meet and talk with each other, it gives us time to browse through the art and make selections that fit.

Art collectors generally don’t identify as collectors, they're familiar with galleries large and small, often buying from under-the-radar dealers like me.
Greenville & Regional Collecting
Greenville, South Carolina sits at a crossroads in the Southern foothills between Atlanta and the Blue Ridge Mountains, surrounded by a network of working studios and galleries. Neighbors like Spartanburg and Asheville get a lot of the spotlight, but the cultural energy extends into Tryon, Flat Rock, Hendersonville, and Highlands. This puts Wilkinson ART Gallery at the center of the region's contemporary art scene, with a focus on painting, printmaking, collage, drawing, assemblage, mixed media, and installation.

Remember, my gallery is inside my home, yet like any gallery, I'm open and available during my regular hours.

Don't hesitate to come for a visit! Hours are posted below.

ORIGIN STORY

Soon, I'll add a little about the gallery's beginning and tell why I began selling artwork, how things evolved naturally from friendships with artists, why I operate this gallery out of my home instead of opening a conventional downtown gallery space. And so on. Until then, when you visit the gallery you can ask me. A good talk is fine by me.
